As an aside I contacted Field Notes in the vain hope that they might have sent me single notebook to at least try, but no go. Moleskine (right), Ecosystem (bottom left) and Piccadilly (top left)Ĭlick to expand.I have heard this but, sadly, as with Field Notes these are not available in New Zealand and shipping cost at doubles and sometimes triples the price. Moleskine, Piccadilly and Ecosystem by david.johnson.7374 So, what have others found when comparing these notebooks? Any clear winners? I'll eventually get one and decide whether this difference is a deal-breaker for me. This is mainly because the height dimension is significantly larger than the other notebooks discussed here. I've excluded Leuchtturm1917 from this discussion because I haven't bought one yet. I know that the Leuchtturm1917 includes a few perforated pages at the end of their notebooks. Being able to tear out pages without ruining your notebook is an advantage. I know that this bothers some people, but you can't actually see the perforations and I doubt that you are going to unintentionally lose pages. Haven't tested them with my Parker Jotter, but I'm expecting performance to be on a par with Moleskine (anyone found different?). I like the way that these notebooks open flat (unlike the Ecosystem notebook) and have the same ivory colored paper as Moleskine.

There's an excellent comparison on the Black Cover blog (which I apparently cannot link to here). Piccadilly (also made in China, I believe) is a pretty close approximation to the Moleskine, and a lot cheaper (I picked up some for about $5 each at B&N recently).
